At TDChristian, numbers matter, but only because of the stories they represent. Behind every statistic in our 2025 Impact Report are students stretching themselves, serving others, discovering gifts, and growing in faith, curiosity, and compassion.
Here is a closer look.
130 Math Contests Written
This year, TDChristian students wrote 130 math contests, including the Canadian Intermediate Math Contest, Canadian Senior Math Contest, Pascal, Cayley, Fermat, Euclid, and Purple Comet Math competitions.
8,640 Meals Packaged
Our Grade 9 class partnered with Kids Against Hunger to package thousands of meals for families facing food insecurity. This hands-on service experience connected students early in their TDChristian to our value of “learning for service.”
For some students, this was a first encounter with large-scale service work and an opportunity to put faith into action and see how small efforts multiply when a community works together.
60+ Students in a Student-Led Alpha Course
More than 60 students participated in a student-led Alpha Course. Alpha is a Christian program that invites students to explore the basics of the Christian faith through short talks and open, honest conversation.
It models a faith that is explored together rather than delivered from the front, helping students learn how to listen well, speak thoughtfully, and engage with differing perspectives.
Presentation Days: Learning Shared, Not Hidden
This year, 48 classes participated in two Presentation Days, welcoming parents and guests into the learning process. These days celebrate student voices, creativity, and inquiry across disciplines.
A parent noted the impact:
“It is such a valuable opportunity for parents to engage in the learning and to participate in the students’ passion for learning across a variety of courses. Their exploration of topics was sincere, and their enthusiasm for self-directed investigations was genuine.”
Serving and Observing in Hamilton: Broadening Worldviews
This year, 120 Grade 11 students participated in a three-day Serve and Observe trip to Hamilton, hosted by Act Five and Philpott Church.
Students served alongside partner organizations by cleaning, painting, landscaping, and preparing food. They also engaged in street walks and shared meals that introduced them to new cultures and perspectives, including Lebanese and Indian cuisine.
2,000 Candles: Creativity, Growth, and Grace
TDChristian’s ShowPro class staged 2000 Candles this year, welcoming 447 guests to a powerful production that brought together students, families, and the wider community.
ShowPro does more than teach performance. It cultivates courage, self-awareness, and maturity. Students often discover new insights about themselves through the collaborative and demanding nature of theatre.
For Sophia Lorimer, who portrayed Mary, ShowPro opened doors she never imagined stepping through:
“I had never taken a drama class or sung in front of anyone before 2000 Candles. Being part of this chaos is one of the best decisions I made here at TD.”
More Than a Report
Thank you for being part of the TDChristian community and for supporting the work that makes these stories possible. Together, we continue to put faith into action, one student, one experience, and one story at a time.
