Passage: Luke 24:36 to 49
“Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” Luke 24:39
Doubt is something that plagues even the most confident people. No matter how good you may be at something or how well you might have studied there will still be times when you don’t believe in your abilities or second guess a correct answer.
Doubt is a natural human thing that comes with sin. Even though, deep down, you know the right answer there is still a voice that can sometimes tell you that you’re wrong. It tells you that tangible evidence is better than your own knowledge.
The good news is God understands us as humans, He knows how we naturally tend towards doubt rather than faith. In Luke 24:39 He said, “Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see.” He knew how the disciples would doubt him even without them saying a word. But he is gracious to them; despite their doubt, Jesus lets them touch and see the holes in his hands.
In the same way, even though we may still have moments of doubt, God is willing to reassure us and show us the way. It is through Jesus!
Prayer
Thank You God for reassuring us through our doubtful moments and for helping us see the truth. Please help us trust in you and learn to fall back on our faith when we doubt.
Show us that when we are unsure of where we should go, you already know the right path for us to take. Lead to recognize our need for Jesus and follow him.
Amen
